I thought you were a superman,
Who could see through mask and wall,
Someone to look up to,
A blessing to us all,
But your cape is kinda wrinkled,
And your suit has formed a tear,
Super powers have worn right off,
If ever they were there,
Now I see you, as you are,
A selfish , cowering fool,
Always doing as your told,
Yet thinking you're so cool,
You never stepping outside the box,
You're by others' chains,
Telling all that you're so smart,
Never using your own brains.
A cookie cutter copy,
Of what you're told to be,
Never helping those in need,
People who looked up, like me,
I thought you were a superman,
I wanted you to be,
But maybe when you let me down,
I found the superman in me.

"Empty Hearts" poem by Abigail Alexis~
Deceit can grow by accident,
Yet others seeded lies,
Planted on their lips,
They pray on meek, not wise,
They rip apart the innocence,
As their shadows grow,
Twisting truths, breaking hearts,
Expanding as they go,
Like a sticky spider web,
Made of tar and glass,
Snaring weak, and wounding them,
As they try and pass,
It scrapes them from the inside,
Gutting them right out,
'Till there noting left to give,
All there insides, running out,
Empty hearts lay waiting,
To fill you with there lies,
They don't care for who they break,
Or count tears from your eyes.
Yet others seeded lies,
Planted on their lips,
They pray on meek, not wise,
They rip apart the innocence,
As their shadows grow,
Twisting truths, breaking hearts,
Expanding as they go,
Like a sticky spider web,
Made of tar and glass,
Snaring weak, and wounding them,
As they try and pass,
It scrapes them from the inside,
Gutting them right out,
'Till there noting left to give,
All there insides, running out,
Empty hearts lay waiting,
To fill you with there lies,
They don't care for who they break,
Or count tears from your eyes.
"Opposites Attract" poem by Abigail Alexis~
You never understood me,
You could not see my rain,
My sunshine was your dark clouds,
My happiness your pain.
You, were like an oil spill,
I was like the sea,
We were close, but did not bond,
You killed the best of me.
Yet if I could relive the past,
Delete, record, re-play,
I know I'd keep the parts with you,
Reliving every day
You could not see my rain,
My sunshine was your dark clouds,
My happiness your pain.
You, were like an oil spill,
I was like the sea,
We were close, but did not bond,
You killed the best of me.
Yet if I could relive the past,
Delete, record, re-play,
I know I'd keep the parts with you,
Reliving every day
"Renewal" poem by Abigail Alexis~
Another phase has passed,
Another curtain drawn,
Another me has set,
Another year is gone,
I don't know were I'm going,
But I do know were I've been,
I don't know what I'm seeking,
defining that again.
Last year was filled with wonders,
Last year was filled with pain,
Last year was filled with laughter,
With sunshine and rain.
Another me's emerging,
Another chapter's begun,
Breaking on this new years morning,
Rising with the new years sun.
Another curtain drawn,
Another me has set,
Another year is gone,
I don't know were I'm going,
But I do know were I've been,
I don't know what I'm seeking,
defining that again.
Last year was filled with wonders,
Last year was filled with pain,
Last year was filled with laughter,
With sunshine and rain.
Another me's emerging,
Another chapter's begun,
Breaking on this new years morning,
Rising with the new years sun.
