I am in my element,
Outside my mothers door,
Tranquil, back porch,
Sitting cross leg, on the floor,
Watching light slide through,
Bits of colored glass,
Paint my world with rainbows,
As the sunbeams pass,
Life is all around me,
Her bananas plants surround,
Clay pots, that hold them,
Filled with fertile ground,
The window made of blue glass,
The crystals hanging down,
Remind me of my childhood,
Sitting in my night gown,
Looking through those same blue pains,
Dreaming I was one,
Of the cranes ,
In Mom's stained glass,
Soaking up the sun,
Now I sit in daydreams,
Grown, but still five,
Barefoot on my Mother's back porch,
Feeling so alive.
